Warm-up (10 mins)

Everyone finds a partner

One person as attacker, the other is the defender

Play starts with attacker dribbling ball facing defender while defender just shadows (not trying to steal ball)

Switch every 1 minute w/ dynamic stretches in between

Progression: Attacker dribbles with more pace trying to beat defender; repeat with a ball at a faster speed

Coaching Points: Defenders should keep their eye on the ball; Defenders want to be close to the attacker, close enough so that in a game the attacker would need to look down at the ball; Balanced body positioning and stance to direct player; Stay low, shuffle feet (don’t cross feet up)

Coaching Points: Defenders should keep their eye on the ball; Defenders want to be close to the attacker, close enough so that in a game the attacker would need to look down at the ball; Balanced body positioning and stance to direct player; Stay low, shuffle feet (don’t cross feet up)
