In 3s (includes GK) across the width of pitch with cones 3m in the middle, 5 balls at P1
1. P1 push passes from sideline to P2 who must lead and receive IN FRONT of cone, then J-Turn, carry ball to other cone and pass to P3. P2 turns and leads back to P1, repeat until all 5 balls at P3
2. P3 passes ball to P2 who leads past cone and OPEN-RECEIVES to prep to pass to P1
After all 5 balls have moved across pitch, change P2.
Disengaged player must stay engaged by playing with ball, keepy-uppies, pulls etc
NOTES to COACHES:
This is a technique coaching session, so feel free to stop the players and go over the basics again in terms of grip, ball positioning and FEET etc
This can be done with the group or just chat to the individual players without disrupting the whole group - your call, but we want the players to get their accuracy first and then their ball speed

Exercise 1: With GK (use crazy-catch net for Groups 3 & 4)
Janice
Player on each cone (sideline cone for 6th player)
Ball gets played into A who has one touch to set and then must shoot (Focus here is on first touch receive ie placing the ball where we want to shoot from)
If goalkeeper saves, A plays rebound until goal is score or ball goes out of baseline
If ball is cleared to any other player 1-6, that player joins in 2 v GK but may not get closer than 2m from GK
Game is over if goal is scored or ball goes over baseline.
If ball is cleared to another player 1-6, that player joins and must find a deflection or shot at goal.
Player who scores, stays in as player A and receives a ball from next player in line to pass

Game 4v2 (Becks/Carys)
2 players per line
4 attackers in red squares vs 2 defenders in the middle line
Attackers need to move ball across defenders zones to score points.
Attackers may pass to teammate in the next square to shift play
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Hockey images.
5v2 passing and movement - Lil
Red team passes ball inside the square to A or passes around the outside of the square if a pass to A is not on. Players can move to open side with/without ball
Defender/s try to intercept the ball, but may not STEP outside playing area (sticks are OK)
Requires lots of movement off the ball, lots of calling and pre-scanning.
IF defenders intercept ball, they replace the player who passed the ball
A can trade out with other blue players by carrying the ball out the playing area, forcing that attacker to go inside the playing area
Points scored if ball gets across the square only (either direct or via A)No tackling

Ex 4: Kabadi (Jess and Jemima)
3 players in each half of Kabadi pitch
One team has to get 5 connected passes to score a point
Defending team sends a player over into the attacking half to intercept and steal ball back for their team
If they intercept the ball, they pass it back to their team who start their points count.

Socially Distanced game - with GK

Long Bangers
6v7 (Jess/Jem can play for team with 6)
Max 3 touches in one half, pushing, sweeping or hitting
Nothing lifted higher than the shin
Goal scored if ball crosses over backline
Sideline ball must be passed back to team before going over the half-line
