KEEP THE BALL FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER / RECOVER THE BALL COLLECTIVELY AND THEN MOVE ON TO (30 mins)
Rules :
- The 7 reds must keep the ball in play with a maximum of two touches in the first playing area - about 20x42m - with the help of the 2 White supports (also 2 touches max).
- The 5 yellow players must recover the ball collectively in this first area and continue (with or without the help of the lateral White supports) by relying on one of the two attackers offering support in the free area. Game with 1 touch of the ball obligatory - Deflection or handover (to be adapted according to the level) for the 2nd attacker or for one of the midfielders who are projecting.
- 2 Blues accompany the action to find a situation of 4 attackers against 2 defenders + the keeper. Free play but limited time to finish the action!
Animate according to the reference system of play e.g: 3-5-2...
Animation:
At the end of each action, the coach systematically reinjects for the reds who start again on a new phase of conservation.
Depending on the number of players, rotate the first zone of the game (especially the supports), leaving the attackers to work in the post.
Coach points
Reds :
Pace of passing, dynamic ball movement from one support to the other - make the ball travel (possibility of counting 1 point for each round trip from one support to the other without interception)
Move in the right tempo in the intervals and free spaces
When the ball is lost, ensure counter-pressing to prevent the transmission of the ball to the attackers or to the lateral supports
Blues:
Organize to be able to recover the ball collectively
Move forward and towards the goal as quickly as possible to take advantage of the momentary disorganization of the reds.
Change of rhythm in the run and in the pass (technical quality of deflections and handovers)
Coordination between the two attackers and the partners projecting themselves forward (who takes off? who projects?)
Finish the action by taking advantage of the surplus and making the most relevant runs (frame the cage, who at first, who at the penalty spot, who at second, who at the back?)
Variations and arrangements: change the numerical ratio (e.g.: 4 x 3 defenders + the goalkeeper in the area).
