Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Passing and dribbling triangles

Screen 1 (15 mins)

Method: 40m x 40m area. 1 player starts at back apex cone of each of 9 triangles dotted around exterior of square. Remaining 9 players start in middle with a ball each. Dribble and play a correctly weighted 8-12m pass through front cones of triangle to waiting player at back apex. Passer follows the ball as receiving player takes 1st touch on the move to dribble through left or right side of triangle, through square marked in middle before passing and moving to a player in another triangle. 4 mins, rest for 1 minute and repeat twice.  

Coaching Points:

• Good tempo passing, dribbling and moving
• Scan playing area and communication between passer and receiver 
• Accurate, correctly weighted pass to the player through front of triangle
• Good 1st touch on the move left or right
• Good paced run to follow pass
