Description

Aims

  • Both CB's MUST split. One CM drops in to cover Centrally, almost acting as a third CB.
  • One ST drops in to cover space left by CM coming in short.
  • Look to compress and overload the near side to the goal kick to retain possession
  • RB and RM drop wide to create some space. If possible, RM looks to get in behind. If not, then RM and RB come back in to support build up play.
  • We are looking to retain possession as a priority. Once we have achieved that, can get go and attack? Trigger point for this is the ball either getting into strikers or midfielders having control of the ball. At that point, how can we get out and look to score? Can we get ST or RM in behind?

Aims

  • Yellows try to break out as quickly as possible to score into one of the three goals. Reds look to press and win the ball back, then try to score themselves.
  • How can yellows best get out of defence and score? Allow players to create and explore their own patterns of play within the session
