Organization:
Set children up along the edge of a 20 X 16 yard grid.
Activity
- Relay races using different movements without the ball for the first 2-3 minutes to get the players energy levels high
- Add the ball and work through different styles of races e.g through the cones right foot, through the cones left foot, turns at the cones, first cone only etc.
- Make enough groups so the most that we ever have in a line is 3 players
Coaches Emphasis
- Fun
- Coordination
- Tight Touches
- Next Player ready to go

Organization
- 3v3 Field
- Two groups of players
- Players line up on opposite sides of the field
- One goal at each end of the field
- Coach stands in a corner with the ball at his feet
Activity
- Both teams number themselves 1 to however many they have in their team
- On the call of their number players on the blue team will run around the goal to their right and then step on to the field calling for the ball from the coach
- The red player will do the same but run around the goal to their right
- The players will then go 1v1 to score
Progressions
- Have the players start in different positions e.g Sat Down
- Call out more than one number at a time
This activity is all about quick reactions, positivity and fun. We are looking for the players to get on to the field quickly, be positive in possession and be purposeful with their attacks. Can we look to get the plyers waiting for their turn to support their team mates.

Organization
- Create two fields 20 x 30 or 15 x 25
- Depending on numbers create teams of 2/3
- At the side of each field place a pile of balls at the halfway line
Activity
- 2v2/3v3 game
- If the ball goes out of lay the players start again by putting their hand on the ball and then can dribble or pass back in to the field
- If a team scores then the opposition can take a ball from the middle pile and attack the other teams goal
- Team that scores the most once the pile has been finished wins
Progression
- Change the rule so that it is the team that scored that is able to get a ball from the middle and attack again
The objective with this session is for the players to develop quick reactions as both defenders and attackers. This game should be fast and free flowing. There is little need for the coach to step in with this game other than to catch the players doing the good things and praising them.

Warm Up (15 mins)
Organization
- Spread all of the different pieces of equipment out throughput the field
- Players can start wherever they want to
Activity
- Player will move around the field with the only rule being that they cannot touch any of the equipment.
Progression
- Ask players to move in as many different ways as possible throughout the space
- As the players to move over the equipment in any way possible without touching it
- Players have to try and move over the equipment with a two foot jump
- Players have to move over the equipment with a single leg hop
- Players are given a ball but we also want them to jump over the equipment as they move around the area
- Add the rule that the ball must be moving at all times
This Warm Up is all about physical literacy and movement skills particularly jumping and landing. The warm up should be fun and players should be encouraged to be as creative as possible.
