Passing Pattern (25 mins)
Setup:
8-12 players; 30x25; 2 balls; 4 mannequins or large discs
Organization:
Player 1 passes to #2 who takes a few dribbles towards #3, then plays pass. #3 plays into other end. Same happens on opposite end, the opposite way. Players follow pass. 2nd ball at opposite end should be played as #2 receives on initial pass.
Progressions:
1. #1 passes to #2 now drives at opposite mannequin and plays 1-2 with #3.
2. #1 plays double pass with #2 as she receives on other side of mannequin. Same for #2 into #3.
3. Short, short, long. #1 into #2, back to #1 who plays into #3. #3 checks in and lays off to #2 who checks to and then plays into #4 who plays double pass with #3.
Coaching Points:
Accuracy of passes; players check away from mannequin and open up to receive pass; correct weight of pass; quick movements and communication
