Screen 1 (15 mins)

Coaching Points: Proper footwork, Jump off of one leg drive opposite knee up, Catch the ball at the highest point, land on two feet, Communicate the keeper call loud and early.

Session Organisation:  10-15 min

GK's perform dynamic stretches. Example. GK holds the ball in both hands and raises the ball up over their head and drives knee up. Lunges while holding the ball in both hands with arms stretched out in front of them. Shoulder stretches by holding the ball out in front of them with their arms straight and raise them up over their head and down while lightly jogging.

The GK stands two steps behind the hurdle at a slight angle. Performs footwork and jumps off of the proper foot over the hurdle while driving up the opposite knee, communicating the keeper call and catching the ball at the highest point. Perform 5-7 reps then change directions.

Progression:

GK jogs forward then turns side on when bending down to touch disc with hand (if touch the disc with the left hand the ball gets tossed over their right shoulder ) Perform 5-7 reps each direction. Toss some straight on and let the GK turn whichever direction they are most comfortable with to catch the ball.

Training Load: Warm-up

Screen 2 (20 mins)

Coaching Points:

- Accurate distribution, Positioning, Catching at the highest point, Body Shape, Communicating 'keeper' Dropping back in quickly.

Session Organisation: 20 minute depending on number of GK's

S1 and S3 start with a ball at their feet. GK receives a back pass from S1. The GK takes a positive touch in front of mannequins and passes the ball out to S2. The GK then drops back into position for a Cross from S3. After collecting the Service from S3 the GK rolls the ball out to S1. Start over and just change the direction of the drill

If there is a bad cross and the GK holds their line or tips the ball, or punches the ball away S1 can strike a ball at the GK. Try to keep the shot in the GK bubble.

S1 can toss a high ball to start

Training Load:Medium to High

Screen 3 (30 mins)

Coaching Points: Two bounce throw, Body positioning, Body shape, Footwork, Early Communication of 'Keeper Catching at the highest point.

Session Organisation: 20-25 min depending on the number of keepers

S1 and S3 start with the ball at their feet.  S1 clips the ball off the ground or service out of hands to the GK. S1 can also toss a high ball to satrt. The GK catches the ball steps in front of the mannequins to perform an overhand two-bounce throw to S2 This makes it easier for a teammate to control. The GK drops back into position to await a cross from S3. After the GK collects the ball out of the air they roll it out to the coach then they drop back into position for a cross from S2 then finish with a two-bounce throw to S3.

Progression:

Same as above and finish with a shot from S1

Can also have S2 and S3( if don't have smaller goals as targets) move further up the field for different types of distribution, sidewinder kick, longer overhand throws, etc.

You can add Live players in the box to create distractions and have physical contact with the GK
