- Attacking team - Attacking runs must not be straight, how can they be creative with their runs
- Encourage players to take long shots if the defenders do not close down quick enough.

Warm Up - Attacking overloads
Players will manourvere their way around the centre diamond using simple dynamic stretches to prepare their body and also to allow them to get familiar with the soccer area that they will be sing in the warm up. As soon as players hit the 1st orange cone then the next 2 players go.
Progressions
1) Dynamic stretching - Side to sides, heel flicks & high knees, open the gate & close the gate, running backwards & running forwards.
2) Introduce the ball - Ball manipulation, lots of little touches. Let the players decide on what they want to do. Allow 3 reps per player.
3) Just use the sole of your foot. Allow for 3 reps per player.
4) 1v1s - Allow 1 player to start as a defender. Players start from normal starting position, allowing them to do whatever ball manipulation or dribble that they want to, as soon as the player hits the final cone, it turns into a 1v1. Attacking objective is to score. Defending objective is to get the ball and dribble out of the coned area. The last attacker becomes a defender. Allow 5 minutes of play.
Coaching Points
- Correct players on their technical ball manipulation if the touches are too big etc.
- Make sure players attack the space and not directly at the player.
- Attack with speed, as soon as the attacker slows down it puts the defender in control.
- Is the defenders body position correct?
