Warm Up (10 mins)

Co-ordinated warm up. 2 Groups in channeled area. Will perform the following:

1) Jog x2

2) Hamstrings x2

3) Lunges x2

4) Quads x2

Will add in ball to perform ball mastery.

1) Insides

2) Outside

3) Inside/Outside

4) Roll/Touch

Will then add in fast feet elements to increase tempo.

1) Quick Steps

2) Big Strides

3) 3 Quarter Pace

4) 1 Sprint

Passing and Receving (15 mins)

Organization:

5 on outside, 5 on inside. Apapting on numbers, long as we can even up players on outside and inside. Players located on inside's job is to demand ball from anyone on the outside who has the ball free. They receive, perform skill asked by coach, then pass back, and go repeat skill/

Instructions:

Working for 2 minutes non stop on each rotation. Working on several aspects of controlling and passing. We will perform 5 different methods during the drill:

1) 2 Touch (Inside, Pass)

2) 2 Touch (Outside, Pass)

3) 1 Touch (Inside, looking to just cushion)

4) Any of above, must encourage change.

Coaching Points:

Making sure with each skill, certian things are adhered too. With 2 touch, the inside touch must come across body in order to take one step to pass back to partner. Will be looking for a general enthusiasm and work rate.

Progressions:

Instead of playing back to partner, could work on turning out and playing to a free player on the outside. Again, only if they can perform the above!

Technical 1 (Unopposed) (20 mins)

Organization:

As Above.

Instructions:

MUST BE DRIVEN PASS

1)Blue begins by playing from A - B - C. C takes one touch out of their feet and then shoots on goal.

2) Red goes from A - B - C. C receives and dribbles across field before taking their shot.

3) Play goes on for two minutes before they switch which type of shooting they perform.

Note: teams should also switch sides to work on both feet.

Coaching Points:

1) choice of shot

2) second knuckle to strike ball

3) standing foot placement

4) centre of the ball v. side of the ball

5) follow through - land on standing foot

Progressions:

1) defender is live after player C's first touch

2) defender is live the whole time

Technical 2 (Opposed) (20 mins)

Organization:

Just short of half.

Instructions:

1) 3 teams of 4

2) 5 Balls each.

3) One defending team, one attacking team, one team feeding.

4) When number is called, attackers must react to the feed and play 4v4. If play breaks down, new number called.

5) Play until all 20 balls have been used, then rotate. Team with most goals wins.

Coaching Points:

1) If Zero pressure, can we get strike away.

2) If pressured, look to make right decision. Can we play behind, can we possess, can we open up striking lane.

Progressions:

1) 1 and 4 perform driven crosses into area.
