2001G Black - Placer United
Aim: To gain a basic understanding of the individual ability of each player
- To develop individual foot skills and turns, applying them effectively in a 1 v 1 situation.
Duration of session: 1 hour
Number of players: 12
Equipment: balls, 2 sets of pinnies, 4 mini goals, cones, whiteboard and pen
Facility: Tinker Indoor Field, one small field
Arrival Activities (0-5 minutes):
Name Game - pass ball to a player, say name, favorite player and position.

Set Up
-as above.
-players work in triangles, one player in middle, two players on outside as shown.
-should be groups of 3.
Activity
- Player A passes the ball to the middle (player B), and follows their pass.
-Player B receives with their right foot, then passes to Player C. Player B follows their pass.
-Player C receives with their right foot and dribbles the ball back to the start.
-Then repeat sequeance.
Progressions
-Repeat exercise so players now receive with the left foot (the triangle will flip-flop)
Dosage:
Intensity: Moderate to high
Reps: 20
Sets: 2 (Right then left foot)
Rest: 1 minute between each set
Coaching Points:
TRY TO:
-Pass using the inside of your foot facing your target.
-receive the ball with an open body position.
-Move off the ball and support the recieving player to hlp with pass selection.
-Provide a good pass with good weight and accuracy.

Set up
-as above
-4 Lines.
Activity
-Player A's go at the same time. Player A starts with the ball and performs a give and go with player B around the mini goal.
-Once the give and go as been completed, Player B attacks the opposite goal with player A now becoming the defender.
-If Player A wins the ball they will then look to score.
Dosage:
Intensity: Moderate to high
Reps: 10
Sets: 2
Rest: 1 minute between each set
Coaching Points:
TRY TO:
-Pass using the inside of your foot facing your target.
-receive the ball with an open body position.
-Move off the ball and support the recieving player.
-Provide a good pass with good weight and accuracy.
-Attack the defender at speed 1 v 1 with good ball control.

- 2 small fields, as above
-4 mini goals
Activity:
-3 v 3 on each field
- directional game, normal rules
Progression
-two touch limit
-remove small goals and go 6 v 6 to big goals (less coaching, ,more freeplay).

Duration per game: 3/4 minutes
Reps: 6-8
Rest: 1 minute between games

Set up:
-place cone or pole in centre with small cones 15 yards from middle as shown
-divide group into 4 (one group behind each cone)
Activity:
-4 players at once (one from each line). One ball per line.
-Players start and finish at same line.
-Players dribble ball to middle go around the pole and dribble to their left
-Players Dribble to the middle, stop the ball and take players ball to their left.
-Repeat opposite direction.
-Players dribble to middle and perform a turn, accelerating to the line they started from (pull-back, outside cut, L-shape)
Progression:
-perform other footskills into the middle and out e.g. drags, toe-taps, boxes
Dosage:
Intensity: Moderate to high
Reps: 4 per exercise

Rest: 60 seconds between each set
Coaching Points:
-close control
-use all surfaces of the foot
-keep your head up and use periheral vision
-change of direction and acceleration.
