As the players get their first water break, we will discuss the session.
Quickly moving the ball from the defensive line to the forward line with Up, Back and Through Passing patterns. This can also involve a back pass to a different defender.
Why is it important to play to feet for the first "target midfielder?"
Can the same idea be used to break opponents back line with a through "give and go" pass? Ask for a specific Example. Can you give an example from our last game when this could have happened?
How many counter attacks did we have that were successful? How many times did we break lines with passes? How many shots on goal did we have?

(15 minutes, 4 minute intervals rotate through neutrals other positions): [Box Ideally 24 by 18 yards, can be made larger if possession can not be maintained]
2 teams of 4(2,3,7,11) with 4 Neutrals (4,5,6,9)
Rondo Game, team in possession has 8, team out of possession has 4.
Can we find the Up, Back and Through pattern?
Is the 6 finding openings?
Are we creating space in possession?
Are we defending as a Unit or 1 by 1 by 1?

[Half of Field, three 10 yard by 10 yard target boxes just before half field]
Functional group has full eleven, Scout Group begins with six players (6, 7, 8, 9,10, 11) as the Functional Group sees success we replace Mannequins with real players.
Can add a time component to the counter attack 10-15 seconds, if red team is not progressing the ball quickly.
Possible Scoring Red team 1 point for ball from defensive line to forward, 2 points for playing through the midfielders.
Check and Adapt.
Ball starts with pass from Coach in to Scout Group who attempts to score on Large Net.
When Functional group wins the ball they objective is to pass the ball into one of the target boxes ASAP. Can change objective to dribbling past half field.
When Functional group wins possession we are asking 7, 9, 11 to get into position to receive a pass in a target box ASAP.
Can we find the 10 when we initially win possession to trigger up back and through pass with the 6 or 8?
Are these Midfielders creating passes to break lines?
Can we find an up, back and though passing pattern starting from the back line using the 6 or 8 to lay off a short pass?
Decision Making: When do We play a 30 yard ball, or choose a shorter combination?
