This session is adjusted and revisited based on need from winter season. When it comes to understanding the timing and recognition of a pass coming in to an open player who has space to turn- we must improve. This recognition was best when we were in the main activity, but dropped significantly during the game part of training. Push speed of play and quick decision making.

Organization: 2 channels with 4 players working in each. Each channel= 20 x 12 yd. Red player is the defender.

Inside attacker looks to check toward either of the two blue cones to create separation from defender.
Outside player passes to inside player who receives and tries to play across.
Defender tries to stalk inside attacker but not to steal.
Reset centrally. Same thing working back toward the other direction.
Coaching Points:
1. Timing of movement to open lane- when, where, and why?
2. Side body shape- what, why?
3. Awareness of central attacker as ball is passed- where, when?
4. Timing and quality of pass (find front foot)- why?
Progressions:
