U turn: Technical Repitions (20 mins)

Organization:

Two channels, as above. Grid approximatly 30x25. Each channel is 12x30. 3 to 4 players in line in middle of each channel. All players have balls. Add additional channels as needed for numbers.

Instructions:

A) Players dribble their ball and preform a u turn at the cones in center. They then dribble back to line after making eye contact with the next player. The next player can go when they make eye contact with player who is turning. Have players turn with both feet during activity.

B) (Progression: Secondary learning outcome for advanced players) If players are showing good technique in the U turn, add a stop-hop stop start at the center cones, and a U turn at the end of the grid. Upon making eye contact again with player turning, next player can go.

Coaching Points:

* Correct U turn technique with both feet

* Stop ball with sole of your foot to roll the other way

* Big touch out of U turn to accelerate

* Eyes up after big touch to see the field

Progressions:

1) (See B above)

2) Add a relay into the technical reps. Each channel must preform 10 correct U turns. First channel to do so wins.

* Qaulity of finishing

Progressions:
