Description

Proposed Outdoor Evaluation Plan following 8+2 Guidelines

• Each group with a maximum of 8 players per station (max 24 players per evaluation session)

• 2-3 Evaluators at each station

• Players at each station for 15 minutes and then rotate to the next station. Warm up is 5 minutes. Total session length is 45 minutes long.

Pass, Receive and Finish (15 mins)

Set Up

- 8 cones: 4 (red) for active players and 4 (blue) for waiting players. 

- The red cones will be set diagonally, with a 7 mts separation from side to side.

- The blue cones will be 2 mts away from red cones.

- Shooting area (shaded) 7 mts away from net

Passing,First Touch and Finishing

• 1st player play the ball across to the player opposite of them. Player follows their pass to the next line.

• Receiving player will take their first touch into space to play the ball across to the next receiving player. Player follows their pass to the next line.

• When the ball comes to the final player, they take their first touch into space and have a shot on goal. Player retrieves the ball and goes back to the beginning. 

Grading Scale (1 to 5 with 5 being the best)

Passing

1.Pass constantly inaccurate, poor technique and power (too strong or too light).

2.Pass mostly inaccurate, poor technique.

3.Pass somewhat accurate, decent technique, but ball is occasionally in the air.

4.Pass somewhat accurate, good technique. pass is on the ground.

5.Pass mostly accurate, strong technique and good power.

Slalom (10 mins)

Set up 

- 8 cones distributed in 2 lines, 2 mts between lines and cones. 

- Players will start at the gate 1 (G1), run in a slalom pattern through the flags and end in gate 2 (G2).

- Time will be recorded from G1 to G2 in each run. One volunteer to chrono the time, one volunteer to write it down.

- Skills evaluators will be 5 mts away from the group.

 Speed and Dribbling 

• Each player will run through the course once without the ball.

• Each player will run through the course again, but with the ball at their feet. 

Grading Scale (1 to 5 with 5 being the best)

Dribbling with Speed

1. Poor technique and coordination, struggles to keep control of the ball.

2. Lacks coordination and ball control. Ball mostly out of reach or gets away.

3. Decent coordination and control of the ball while at full speed. Ball occasionally gets away from them.

4. Good coordination and control of the ball while at full speed. Ball sometimes gets away from them.

5. Strong coordination and control of the ball while at full speed. Ball doesn’t get away from them.

Shooting (10 mins)

Set up 

- Set 2 cones, the first one 10 mts away from the net, the second one 15 mts away. We could adjust the distance according to the age of the player. 

- 8 cones, 2 mt away from each other for waiting players.

- 2 coaches passing the ball, one at each side of the net.

- Evaluators must be 5 at least 5 mts away from the group.

 Shooting and Finishing 

• Each player will receive the ball 4 times at each cone from each server.

• Player must take a touch and then shoot for the first two passes (right foot then left foot)

• Player must shoot the ball first time for the last two passes (right foot then left foot)

• Player moves up to the closer cone and repeats the process. 

Grading Scale (1 to 5 with 5 being the best)

Shooting and Finishing (Left Foot)

1. Poor technique and coordination, consistently lacks power AND accuracy.

2. Struggles with technique and coordination, consistently lacks power OR accuracy.

3. Decent technique and coordination. Occasionally lacks power OR accuracy.

4. Good technique and coordination. Can strike the ball with power OR accuracy.

5. Strong technique and coordination. Can strike the ball with power AND accuracy. 

Shooting and Finishing (Right Foot)

1. Poor technique and coordination, consistently lacks power AND accuracy.

2. Struggles with technique and coordination, consistently lacks power OR accuracy.

3. Decent technique and coordination. Occasionally lacks power OR accuracy.

4. Good technique and coordination. Strikes the ball with good power OR accuracy.

5. Strong technique and coordination. Strikes the ball with good power AND accuracy.
