Intro

Organization:

  • All players with a ball in 18yd box

Instructions:

  • Each player tries to beat one anothers scores with juggling.
  • After a few tries we put the ball on the ground and work on dribbiling in a tight area with numerous players around us.
  • Dribble with head up. Alternate using only R foot or L foot.

Coaching Points/Questions:

  • Can we dribble with our head up.
  • Make sure we dont dribble in straight lines.
  • Show me skill moves you know.

Main Act

Organization:

  • 2 seperate 4v1. 
  • each group has two 10x10 boxes.

Instructions:

  • 4v1 in a 10x10 space
  • Try and possess ball and move it from one grid across too your open 2 teammates in other grid.
  • Each time ball moves from one grid to another a point is scored.
  • If ball gets knocked out of grid or Defender steals ball. Last offensive player to touch ball becomes new defender.

Coaching Points/Questions:

  • Quick touches and move the ball quickly.
  • Look for the switch of play.
  • Use all the spaces you have in your grid

Conditioned game (20 mins)

Organization:

  • 3 teams of 3
  • each team has a ball no touch limit

Instructions:

  • Stage 1
  • start with open touch
  • R/L foot
  • Stage 2
  • touch limit. switch from only R foot or L foot
  • Stage 3
  • One team of 3 become defenders. Remaning 6 play together. Possession game.
  • have each team defend for 5 mins
  • Stage 4
  • place two pugg goals on end of grid and have defending team try to score if they take ball from two offensive teams

Coaching Points/Questions:

  • Pass with our heads up
  • Find an open teammate.,
  • Can we spread each other out.
  • Can we switch the field.
  • Defenders when they win the ball can they keep it.

Regressions/Progressions:

  • If it becomes to crowded or the ball continues to go out of play make the grid bigger.
  • Have even teams. 
  • Keep players engaged when defending.
  • Offensive teams give them a pass count for a point so they have a goal to aim for since no goals.

Organization:

  • 5v5 to goal

Instructions:

  • Add goals to same grid as Possession game.
  • If you need too make area bigger or smaller with how the play goes.

  • Lets use the ball when we have it.
  • Look for the switch of play.
  • Ball movement and control.
