Football Problem
High press from opposition prevented us from playing out from the back
Session Objective
Get into receiving positions higher in passing channells in middle third to allow us to progress when opposition presses high
Organisation
Teams are set up in a 5 V 3 set up with the team playing out from the back to have an overload. Red three or four will start the game with the ball with the objective of playing a bounce pass with 7 or 11 into the mini goal to receive a point. Once the ball is in the net return the ball back to the 3 or 4. Change blue team every 4 minutes to ensure tempo stays high and no one gets tired. if blue wins the ball they need to dribble it over the line to receive two points
Progression
Limit to maximu 3 touches to speed the play up. Depending on overload, if it is to easy asign the red n7 & 11 to a blue 6 to make it even numbers
Team Task
Take first touch forward where possible. Play a completed pass in behind the lines to negate a high press
Player Tasks
Positions 2, 3, 4 & 5 to dribble and advance over the advantage line when they have space. 6,10 & 8 red to stay high and in passing channels. 7 & 11 can go either side of the goal
Coaches Cues
First touch forward, options played were correct, positioning to receive the ball when playing out and strutural awareness, are players moving to receive the ball after they have passed it
