2v2 Game (20 mins)

Objective: To improve the players ability in both attacking and defending when in a 2v2 situation. Players can either go to goal alone or can use the teammate they now have.

Organization: 10W yd x 15L yd field. Use both halves of the field if more players at practice. Try to keep lines short as possible to promote more playing time. Ball starts with one team. First team to score wins their team a point. First team to 5 points wins and then switch groups or sides.

Key Words: Dribble, shoot, Look up, COP, COD, take defender(s) on

Guided Questions: 1) If you have the ball and are attacking, what are your options? 2) If defending, should you try to defender the player to win the ball or get in from of the goal to stop the shot? 3) Should both defenders go towards the ball or just 1 defend and the other defender stay close the 2nd attacker?

Answers: 1) Dribble under control to not lose the ball or dribble with COP and try a move to beat the defender and score. Pass now that I have a teammate with me. 2) Defend the player to try and win the ball. If you can defend the player and be in the way of the goal, even better. 3) 1 player defend the ball and the other keep and eye on the 2nd attacker.

Notes: If a player can't beat the defender 1v1 can he/she utilize and pass to their teammate?
