Session Objective: To improve 2 v 2 defending
Organisation:
Now three areas;2 v 2.Ball played by white player to red on opposite end and reds attack and white defend,Change who attacks after each turn.Can play ball straignt or diagonal.2 v 2 scenario as in 1v1 session.
As in area A, 1 plays ball to 3 and closes down'2 supports but balances off to provide cover also if 3 beats 1.if ball passed to4, 2 closes down and 1 drops off to balance.

Session Objective: To improve defending 3 v 3
Organisation:
3 v 3 : now two areas
Player A can play ball to any opposition player.Then players react and close down.One closes, and now two balance off as in B.Defending players balance or press according to which attacker has ball.
Repeat ensuring all three attackers receive ball so all three players are defended.

Speed and angle to close downand brakes and stance
Force player where you want him
Be patient and hold/try to nick ball
Recover when pass made across to balance

Organisation:
A and B Coaches/Servers
Play to one team;they have to try to play ball to coach at one end; after achieving this they look to receive ball and play back other way.If possession lost other team then look to play end to end.
keep high tempo and emphasize when to close and when to balance off/block passing lines.

Session Objective: To improve defending/reactions when possession lost
Organisation:
4 v 4 with two outside players each side.Teams have to play ball to A and then work to B then a and so on.Can use outside players.Irrespective of colour outside players give ball back to teasm that plays it to them.
this should increase tempo.Rotate players.

White player has ball and has five tries attrying to attack to bottom line.
Red player to defend and stop him getting past/force him out/win ball.
Then change player with ball.
