Technical warm up (15 mins)

Organisation:

6x6 Square in the Middle

Sets of Cones/Poles leading outwards away from the square

Four Teams

Supply of Balls

Aim:

Complete the required agility work through the cones then enter the square. 10 Quick touches on the ball then re-join line.

Progression:

The last person into the square picks up a bib and play starts 3v1 until the defender can kick the ball out of the square..

Footwork:

1 - Two Feet In Each Gap Facing Forwards

2 - Two Feet In Each Gap Facing Sideways

3 - In and Out of the Cones

4 - Around Right and Left Cones then Fast Feet

5 - Hopping

6 - Two Feet Jumps

Coaching Points:

-Fast, Sharp Movements

-Quality in Possession when tired

-Work rate of defender when tired

3v1 Chase (30 mins)

Organization:

15x15 square grid. Split into 4.

Two teams or 4.

3v1 in opposite squares.

Players play 3v1. After 3 passes, team can either pass or dribble counter clockwise into the next grid. Team that catches the other team wins.

2vs2+4 (20 mins)

15x15 square

2vs2 in the middle

Four players on the outsides - two per team

Teammates on opposite diagonal corners

Rules:

Object of the game is to get the ball from one outside player, through the middle, to the opposite outside player

Play unopposed to start with so players can understand movements and idea of the game.

Progressions:

>Make maximum 3 touches

Time:

>2 mins work then swap outside and inside players

Key Points:

>3 Seconds in Possession

>Make square big in possession

>Receive the ball side-on so you can see whole square

>Think - Where can I go to find space - How can I help my teammate

>Move away from the ball not towards it

Aim:

Team With GK - To score in the opposition goal - Must be ver Halfway to Score

Team Without GK - To score in the opposition goal

Rules:

No Limit on Touches

If Ball goes out of play then restart from appropriate GK

-Support off the Ball
