Pirate Ship (10 mins)

Pirate Ship - 20 x 30 yard area, create a small safe zone (5x5)

Teach the players the following commands:

1. Walk the Plank - move the ball back and forth with the inside of their feet, if they loose control they fall off the plank.

2. Scrub the Deck - Show the players to move the ball stationary without moving (putting the foot on the ball and moving it around). Roll it forwards roll is back using the bottom of the foot (Sole)

Go back and forth between the two commands. Have the players dribble around and you can add the next two commands.

3. Hoist the Sail - Have players reach down with both hands, grab the ball on both sides, and lift the ball as high as they can. Players return the ball back to the ground, and start dribbling.

4. Shark Attack - When the coach yells shark attack, this is the cue for the players to quickly dribble their ball into the safe zone without being tagged by the coach.

Island hopping (10 mins)

Island Hopping - 20 x 30 yard coned area

Place ployspots or rings around the area (preferably one per player if possible) Tell the players that they are "islands". During each round call out differeent locomotive skills such as (hopping, skipping, and dribbling soccer ball). When the coach calls out "shark attack", players must jump onto an island to be safe with thier ball on rounds using a ball.

Once you have played some rounds then take away half of the hoops. Players are now allowed to "share" their island with one other friend.

Stormy Seas - Rescue (10 mins)

Stormy Seas - Rescue - Organize in a 20 x 30 yard grid

Everyone is a fish. Each fish lives in a home and there are four colored homes, one in each corner. Tell the players that the area between the 4 homes is the ocean and to explore it. Also, tell them if they hear the coach yell "Storm" they must dribble back to their home without getting tagged. If they get tagged they will be brought to the center and must stand at the hoop. Once the storm is over they can swim again. Players can save the fish by dribbling in and tagging them. Once they are saved they can grab their ball and rejoin the game. In this game they must work together to save those caught by the storm. Yes, they can save a fish from the center.

Add ball once players grasp the game.

Open Goals (10 mins)

Open Goals:  20x30 yard coned area

Bring all the players into the center of the grid. Tell the players, to dribble to a goal and shoot the ball into the net. Once they score a goal, they must grab their ball and score on another goal.

Last round, they must give coach and Air High Five before scoring in another goal. How many goals can you score?

-Play for two-three rounds.

-You can add a goal monster that tries to steal their ball and kick it out in the last round or a tagger that can freeze them for 5 seconds.
