Blues are attacking and yellows are defending. The attacking team look to combine and shoot at goal. They have the option of using the Reds neutral players between the gates by passing and receiving the ball back.
If the defenders win the ball they must look to pass the ball to one of the neutral players between the gates and receive the ball back. Defenders then become attackers and the attacking team become defenders.
Coaching Points:
The first touch – Once receiving the ball, players must ensure their first touch is good enough to create enough space for themselves to then go on and create options. Whether that be dribbling, shooting or passing.
The end product – If the players have an opportunity to score, don’t waste it. Get your shot off early.
Decision making – Players need to make decisions on when to take big touches and when to take small touches depending on the space in front of them and the position of the defenders. Players need to decide which is the best option in a 1v1 situation. Should they take the player on? or should they look for a passing opportunity?
Progression
Attackers have to pass to a neutral player and receive the ball back before they can score.
Neutral players can free roam anywhere around the pitch

The one goal game
Play a normal small sided game. However, a team can only go 1 goal ahead. Once it's 1-0 they look to keep possession and prevent the opponents scoring.
If the opponents score to make it 1-1 the game commences until a team goes 2-1 up

Players score 1 point by dribbling through a gate without loosing possession. They can't dribble through the same gate continuously, they must find a new gate each time.
This practice is played at a very high intensity, so make sure it's in short bursts for the young players
