Jugglilng Intro (10 mins)

Intro to Juggling

Talk to the players about juggling and why you juggle. What does juggling do for you as a player and why it is something they can do on their own to create a better touch and have more control over the ball. Practice at home.

-foot catch

-foot bounce, foot bounce

-foot, foot, catch

-foot, foot, bounce, repeat. (How many each round)

Juggling is a process and takes time to learn. Let them know that getting two to five juggles at age 8 is good and that you should always try to beat your record. 30 minutes 3X a week will allow a player to continually improve their juggling skills.

Perimeter Passing (15 mins)

Perimeter Passing

Players (9 or 12 - 3 teams of 3 or 4 players) - with different coloured pinnies for each team.

Grid: 20x15 yards (Depending on the age and ability of the players)

Objectives: To develop group passing combinations and proper support movement of teammates with the ball.

Setup: Use cones to outline a field area. Station one team within the area as the defending team. The remaining 2 teams (attackers) space their players evenly on the perimeter of the area. Encourage attackers to (constantly) move laterally along the four perimeter lines to support their teammates and receive passes, but they may not enter the area to receive a pass.

The attacking team(s) score a point for every 8 consecutive passes. If the defending team wins the ball they must attempt to dribble outside of the area in order to score a point (the attacking team should look to close down the defenders and win back possession). Each team must take a turn at being the defending team. The team at the end with the most points (attacking and defending) wins.
