Set Up: Two 15x15 yard grids are created side-by-side. Targets are set up on each end, and it is 4 v 4 inside [balls, pinnies, cones].
Activity: Both teams attempt to maintain possession of the ball inside the 15x15 yard grid. Points are awarded for playing the ball to a target at the perimeter of the OPPOSITE grid and then traveling to the other grid to receive the return pass - play then continues in that grid. Targets are restricted to 2 touch. Work for 3 - 4 minutes at a time.
Coaching Points: quick transitions and support play, travel as ball travels, angles of support, quality of passing, tempo, awareness

In a 30 x 20 area, work on continuous combinations, starting with basic wall passes then build into the 3 man combinations of up/back through; overlap;etc. Concentrate on technique, timing of runs and passes as well as speed of play.

We will play 4 v 4 or 5 v 5 in a central area near the midway line. After 4 passes, the team in possession can play the ball into the striker who is stationed in between two mannquins and has a 10 x 10 area to check into. When played, 2 players from the central area will join in and form a 3 v 0 to goal. As we progress, we will add 2 defenders to make it a 3 v 2. We will then add two wing backs into the game creating a 5 v 2 and finally 2 more defenders to make a 5 v 4. We can also change it up to make the 2 AM outside of the box to work on their rotation with the strikers. The counter attacks are continuous and need to be sharp and fast, each one ending with a shot on goal.

Set Up: Game to goals, 3 zones are created on the pitch - 7v7 [can vary] in middle zone, 1v1 in each end zone as shown. Size of zones can vary, but end zones should be at least 20 yards, and middle zone at least 30 yards. Width of penalty box is good [balls, pinnies, cones, goals].
Activity: Both teams compete in the middle zone for possession of the ball. Players are encouraged to look for opportunities to play forward to the target player in the end zone. After playing the ball into the target player 3 players must "burst" forward into the end zone to support the attack - this creates a 4v1 going to goal. No defensive players from the middle zone can track back to defend in the end zone. After an attempt on goal play resumes with a pass into the central zone by the coach.
Progressions: [1] allow players back to defend, [2] one team has to make a certain number of passes before playing into target and the other team can quick counter once they win the ball, [3] remove restrictions, free play.
Coaching Points: Play quickly into the center-forward upon winning possession of the ball, Travel quickly to support the attack, NO long passing sequences - players are encouraged to get an attack off quickly,Timing/angle of runs from center-forward is crucial.

This 3 man shooting combination will work as follows: #2 roles ball out from freet and strikes on goal, immediately after, they check to #1 who plays the ball in for a 1-2 and shot. Finally, the next player in line 2 will play a ball into #2 who will play a ball out for #3, who will cross into #1 and #2 running in on goal.
