Organization:
Mark out a 7 to 8 yard end zone at end end. Use the yellow boards to mark out goal.
4v4 in the centre of the pitch and 1 attacker and 1 defender in each end zone.
Pinnies for one team.
Instructions:
The coach plays ball in to one team at the back. Attacking players will play the ball out and attempt to get ball into opposition's end zone to try for goal. Other players cannot encroach into end zone and it will always be 1v1. When defender in end zone starts with ball, opposition attacker must be passive and let ball be played out. No goal keepers.
Progression
Make the end zone larger by about 3 feet and allow a midfielder to dribble in to end zone. If midfielder dribbles in to end zone, a midfielder on defensive team can run in to make it a 2v2.
A negative pass back into the defender gets the team 1 point each time, but the defender has to make a successful pass back to own team.
Coaching Points:
CLOSE DOWN & SLOW DOWN
Communication of defenders when ball switches sides and closest to ball pressures
Formation to close down passing angles
Surf board stance.

Instruction
The coach will make a pass to the attacking pair and the attackers will attempt to score in any of the three goals by dribbling through. The defending pair will begin at the corner of the goal with the highest point value and defenders will prevent the goal being scored.
5 points for the defenders who win possession and dribbles ball over centre court.
Switch attackers and defenders after 4 minutes.
Coaching Points:
Speed and angle of approach. Arched run to close angle and get in front of attacker (CLOSE DOWN)
Defender must SLOW DOWN as they arrive at attacker and not over commit.
Arms out for balance, angled body, one foot in front of the other at an angle. (SURF BOARD)
Push attacker toward sideline by using arms to guide the attacker.
Keep arm length distance and take possession when ball is mis-dribbled or on bad touch.
