Passing pattern:
Pass the ball in to middle player who touches out to side before passing.
First passer then moves in to the middle to receive the same ball back.

THE SESSION:
Players in 2's. The coach asks the players to pass the ball between each other. At this stage there are no conditions. The next part of the session players are asked to pass and control the ball with the inside of their foot (2 touches if possible) We now work on the technical aspects of passing...

THE SESSION: intro to wall passes
dribble up past first cone, pass to coach and yell "wall pass"
run around defender (assistant coach) and coach passes back to them.
PROGRESSIONS:
replace coach with player to be the one receiving and passing. rotate each player in and out.
KEY MESSAGES/POINTS:
ask for a wall pass
run around defender (not in front of them)
don't wait for coach to pass the ball, run ahead and coach will pass in front of you to space.

THE SESSION:
- Place cones along the end line, spacing them apart . A goal is scored by knocking a cone down with a pass.
- Once the cone is down, it stays down and the team must go about knocking the remaining cones over. Once a team has knocked down every cone they win.
PROGRESSIONS:
- Change angles/distances/size of cones (make central cones harder to come by)
- If a player misses a pass into cone they can face forfeit i.e. off for 1 minute or complete activity before they return

Technical Unopposed Passing Pattern (10 mins)
The Session:
Players in 2s or 3s on each side of a 10x10 grid. Pass and follow pass in the pattern laid out. Start with 2 touch, then progress to 1 touch if you can, 2 if you need.
Key Messages:
Quality of pass - weight, accuracy, play to correct foot
1st touch sets you up to play
Decision making - one or two touch depending on the pass you receive
