Small Sided Game (60 mins)

Match play positioning and build up play 

• In this small sided game there will be lines splitting up the pitch. 
• this is to support the players in their match day positioning
• the players will all be in different positions. 
• GK, 2 defenders, CM, 2 Wingers and a striker
• Subs will be allowed to receive the ball on the line only and pass back to a team mate - they can't be tackled
• there will be rules to where the different positions can go to create space for them to pass the ball around and make a play.  

The aim of the practice is to teach the players to work the ball up the pitch from their different positions. 

Starting Format

• Everyone must stay in their zone except the wingers who can enter the striker zone as well as the middle zone
  
• 5 passes required before you can score
• Progression - CM can go anywhere
• Progression - Defenders and strikers can enter middle zone

Have balls to hand to keep ball rolling time going - have a time limit on taking throwing/kick ins
