Description
Orientation for 9v9 where reds executing a low block preventing the blues from creating chances and scoring. Blues line up in 1-2-3-3 formation against reds in a 1-4-3-1 formation. Start with blues trying to build up good possession from the GK with penetrating passes through midfielders or wide players

Method: 9v9 working with reds to execute low block from 1-4-3-1 formation (no WAs) against blues playing out from GK in 1-2-3-3 (No FBs) formation. Start with blues GK. Coaching the red defenders to work as a unit and with midfield unit to prevent scoring, win the ball and T2A.
Coaching Points:
- Good opposition orientation to try drag reds out of position
- Establish line of pressure and adjust accordingly
- Defend as a team. Ball moves, team moves
- Nearest player presses the ball
- Individual body stance - low and side-on waiting for opportunity to win ball

Method: Maintain a solid line of defence with team moving as ball moves and no gaps between units
Coaching Points:
- Be compact relative to the line of pressure / limit space between units
- Ball moves, team moves
- Good communication from GK / defenders
- Anticipate long pass and establish cover and balance
- Press ball in dangerous areas
- Recovery runs to close space between units
- On winning the ball, T2A by passing forward or at least maintaining possession
