Warm-up: Skills (10 mins)

Organization

- 40 v 40 square

- One ball per player

Activity:

- Players are to perform a move on Coach's instruction:

- Toe Taps

- Scissors

- Dribble with non-preferred foot

- Maradona

- Dribble at game speed on Coach's count

- Encourage players to be creative on their own

Coaching points

- Encourage players to dribble with their heads up

- Ensure players are not allowing their balls to hit each other - If they do ensure they leave the grid and perform 5 jumping jacks.

SSG1 (15 mins)

Organization:

- Split field into two halves.

- One mini net per half

Activity:

- Play game 3v3 or 2v2 depending on numbers.

- Goals are scored by scoring in the mini net.

- Ensure defending players return to retreat line

- Kick or dribble in if and where ball goes out.

Coaching points:

- Be creative - Don't be afraid to take players on.

- Attack space if given by dribbling with "bigger" touches to allow you get away from defender

- Dribble with your head up to allow to see the field

- Switch the play to the other side if less pressure

Activity (15 mins)

Organization:

- Area 15 v 15 * 2 (Only one demonstrated above)

- Break players into 2 different groups

- Number players 1 to 6 depending on how many players you have

Activity:

- Players are to pass to the next number in sequence. Number one passes to two, two to three, and so forth.

- Players have to leave the grid and come back around a cone. They can't go around the same cone twice in a row

Coaching points:

- Players have to play with their head up because they have to identify the next player in sequence.

- Players have to make good passes to keep the rhythm going

- Players have to work hard off the ball to show for their player.

- 5 v 5 or 6 v 6

Activity:

- Play game 6v6 or 5v5 depending on numbers.

- Goals are scored on the pug net

Coaching points:

- Be creative - Don't be afraid to take players on.

- Attack space if given by dribbling with "bigger" touches to allow you get away from defender

- Dribble with your head up to allow to see the field
