Set Up: Two set ups: half a quarter field at PG ( can go cross field if needbe). Use one full goal at one end and two small 5 yard gates at the other end.

Players: 9 players per field. One GK in goal.

Description: Players take part in a 4v4 game. Regular rules apply.

Key Factors:

1. First defender principles. Close down as the ball travels.

2. Second defender principles - cover.

3. Compactness - vertically/horizontally.

4. Open body shape to weak side attackers.

5. Communication amongst defenders.

6. Cues to press.

Questions: Who pressures the ball? Who becomes the second defender? Which defenders offer balance?

Multiple Goal Game

Players: 8 players per field. Each team attacks and defends two goals.

Description: Players take part in a 4v4 game. Regular rules apply. Scoring involves dribbling or passing (onto a waiting teammate) through one of two gates.
