Football/Soccer Session (Difficult): Combination Play

Keeper rondo:

Set up:

12 x 12 box with 3 x 3 x 3 triangle in the center. 4 outside players and 1 inside keeper.

Instructions:

Outside players look to play through the triangle to score points. Keeper can use feet or hands to deny. Swap players every 2-3 minutes.

Technical Finishing20 mins

Exercise: 2 players run to the goal and coach passes to 1 of them (finish in 2 touch). Both run back and touch the cone, while other 2 players play an overlap run and find a cross to the same 2 players after touching the cones.

- Attack the goal when finishing in quick 2 touch (receive left, shoot right or vise versa).

- Timing of the run to the goal + opposite lines.

Attacking in the att.1/320 mins

4v4 + 4 wide neutral players

Set Up:

1/2 field length, width of 18 yard box with 10 yd wide channels. 4v4 in the middle area, 2 wide neutral players in each channel. Neutrals only support own team. Two full size goals and keepers.

Instructions:

Ball must be played into wide neutral zone before going to goal.. No defending in wide channels.

Progressions:

Inside player may over lap into channel and cross in.

Neutral players may defend each other.

Coaching points:

Passing/receiving, support, open stance, combination play in wide channels.
