Warm-Up: Dribbling & Ball Mastery (10 mins)

Organization:

- Use full gym and begin with each player individually moving the ball around in the box

- 4 cones

- Ball for each player

Activity:

- Have players dribble with left/right foot only

- Have players dribble with sole of foot only (drag, roll, push)

- Have players perform toe-taps, inside touches on the ball

- Ask players to perform different moves: fake and takes, cuts, etc.

Coaching Emphasis:

- Keep control in tight spaces, accelerate into open spaces

- Look up from the ball to scan for space and players aorund you

- Change your speed and direction

3v3/4v4 SSGs (Game) (45 mins)

Organization:

- 12-15 players

- See diagram for set-up and equipment

- Area of approximately 25x20m

Activity:

- 3v3/4v4 small-sided games (Minimum 4 teams)

- 3-4 minute games, winner stays on. Winning team cannot stay on for more than 3 rounds. If a game ends in a tie, coin toss decides which team stays on.

Coaching Emphasis:

- Good first touch and look for open space

- Decision making -- When should I pass? When should I dribble?

- Weight and accuracy of pass

- Movement with and without the ball

- Communication
