Shooting - Technical (30 mins)
Organisation
12-14 players (including 2 GKs)
Ball each
Goals abt 40 meters apart
8 cones to mark starting positions for players
4 cones to mark from where shot is taken
Introduce mechanics (below).
Adaptation to Practice (Progression/regression, challenges)
Players line up at one of the gates on each side of the goal (split players evenly)
- First player dribbles towards the cone and when reaches it takes a shot stationary then joins the line on the other side
- Progress to no pause between the dribble and the shot. Add in a cone to encourage them to curve their run.
Challenge - which team can score the most in 2 minutes?
- add 2 pts for hitting corners
After 10 minutes switch sides in order to shoot with the other foot (practice both stronger and weaker foot)
Progression: add a server to replace the cone. Players now need to shoot directly from the pass.
Progression - add a defender
