Organization:
As many balls as possible for quick rotations
2 age specific goals
2x2 yard starting gates
2x10 yard shooting gate (15-20 yards away from goal)
Instructions:
First player dribbles out and shoots as close to shooting gate/line as possible, after shooting they become the GK, the GK goes to the back of the opposite line of the shooter, next in line repeats for continual rotation.
Coaching Points:
Head up on approach to observe GK, smaller touches as get closer to shooting line, use last touch to give yourself correct angle of approach.
Use same technical coaching points as learned in previous activity

Progressions:
Make individual competition (first player to 10 goals)
split players into two teams with specific GKs and make a team competition
Ball is lofted into target player in between shooting line who lays off ball for 1 time strike
add defender by shooting line to make it a 1v1 before trying to score

Organization:
Goals 30 yards apart, 12 players, 12 Balls, 30x40 area
Instruction:
Player A makes eye contact with player B then start dribbling towards the blue cone.
Once the two players have gone past the blue cone then player C & D can make eye contact and do the same.
Players join the back of opposite line.
Coaching Points:
Head up to make eye contact
Big touches to get to blue cone
Small touches after blue cone
Using pinky toe to dribble
Awareness of when gap apears in the middle

Organization:
1. Penalty area set up as shown
2. 8 players (2 groups of 4) set up as shown
3. Lots of balls
Instructions:
1. The activity starts with the first player from each group dribbling around the cone
2. Players should dribble as quickly and as tightly around the cone as possible
3. As the player finishes off dribbling around, they have to shoot for the far corner
4. Play for a set time and then switch sides to work weaker foot
Coaching Points:
1. Head up to observe the target
2. Head down at the point of contact
3. Ankle locked, toe down
4. Contact ball
5. Contact foot – laces (instep)
Progressions:
1. P – The player from the opposite side comes out to close as soon as the first touch is made

1. 40 x 30 yard area set up as shown
2. 14 players (4 Attackers, 4 Defenders, 4 Neutrals, 2 Goalkeepers) set up as shown

Instructions:
1. Teams can only score by playing into neutral player first
2. Neutral players have two touches
3. If the ball leaves the field of play the game is started with a kick in and if a corner is won then the game starts again from the attacking team’s goalkeeper
4. Play to time limit and switch end target players out

Shooting Partners (15 mins)
Organization:
Players in pairs
1 ball per pair
2 yard gates, 10 yards in between each player
Instructions:
Players strike the ball through the gate using the driven technique.
No scores to ensure shooting technique is used rather than passes.
Coaching Points:
Observe target
Angle of approach
Non-Kicking foot placement
Body weight learning forward (head, shoulders, hips then knee over ball)
Contact on ball, contact on foot
Follow through
Land on striking foot
Progressions:
Move gates 15-20 yards apart and make it a competition to see who can be the first to score 10 goals against their partner using correct shooting technique
