8v8
18 yard box to 18 yard box with full width.
Explanation:
Ball is to start wit server into a Fullback, lookig to play forward to use the wIngers to create overloads using various types of runs in wide areas:
over laps
underlaps
2v1s
Once they get in behind the defence they look to get a cross into the box and finish.
Red team to score by breakig away and getting the ball in the wide goals which represent the wingers.
Out of Possession basic principles:
- Press quickly and protect the middle
- Leave the furthest man
How:
The coach will be working with the blue team in possession to demonstrate the strategy of 'creating and exploiting overloads'. When they are out of possession they must follow the 'out of possession' principles of play. The 8 second condition for the red team will allow for the ball to be recyled back to the team to coach the in possession principles.
Challenges, Conditions & Targets:
If reds win possession they have 8 seconds to score in either of the 2 goals (Targeting the high fullbacks)
3 points for goal off a cross, 1 point for a goal. Reds score within 8 seconds = 2 points.
