Session Organisation:
A ball is to be played into the CB for the white team,
the aim is for the white team to pass the ball through the lines
encourage building the play through passing, limit dribbling if required
the white team are looking to get the ball into the final 3rd and score, into final 3rd = 1 point, Goal = 3 points
the red team are looking to defend, if they can win the ball and clear up the pitch = 1 point, if they can score in the target goal = 3 points.
5 minutes in attack, then swop over.
Coaching Points:
Coach (C) - to focus on attacking principles / white team
Discuss Trigger points, when to become active and move into space to receive the ball
Discuss Passing, a good weight of pass
Discuss Receiving good body position to receive the ball, checking shoulders identifying space and next pass (can we see 3 corner flags before receiving) creating angles to receive.
Discuss making the pitch big in possession
During SSG - Focus on +1 player, when the CB is receiving the ball, do the CM trigger, find space and create good angles to receive the ball.
Interventions - Allow players to self-diagnose as much as possible, try to use individual interventions during play, if the white fail 3/4 times then group intervention to re-enforce trigger points, movement and mechanics of passing.
Progression:
Set time limit, points for defence if they can hold off the attack, Points for attack if they can score quickly
challenge limited touches
-1 attacking player, +1 defender to create a defensive overload for the attacking tea to break down.

Coaching Points:
Assistant Coach (AC) - to focus on defensive principles / red team
Discuss staying compact and working as a unit (defensive line/midfield line)
Discuss Pressure on the ball, Setting traps and triggering to press as a group
Discuss communication to move across the pitch together, and the height of line (allow space in front/low line, space behind/high line)
Discuss +1 player movement to press in pairs to win ball (who's your pressing buddies)
During SSG - Focus on +1 player, when the attack is building, are they patient and communicating when to work as a pair, not diving in and opening up the space in the lines to be exploited!
