Caf C warmup (20 mins)

1 x speed ladder 

3 x hurdles 

4 x agility rings

Playing part 1 (unopposed exercise) (20 mins)

Equipment

4 x cones 

12 x balls

Organization

12 players ( 5 x outfield + 2 x GK)

2 x GK in goal

3 players at LW, 2 players at 10, 3 players at RW and 2 players at ST.

10 plays to ST, ST drops ball back to 10, 10 passes out wide to either RW or LW, Winger crosses the ball into box for 10, ST and opposite winger to score.

Coaching points

Forward, penetrative pass to ST

Match day intensity

Check shoulders before receiving

Check in vs check out (opposite movement) to create time vs space

ST to secure ball and drop ball with correct weight to 10

Timing of runs into the box, accelerates when winger take a touch and raises his head

Triangulate runs to near post, far post and 45 cut back

8 seconds to score

12 players ( 5 x outfield + 2 x GK)

2 x GK in goal

3 players at LW, 2 players at 10, 3 players at RW and 2 players at ST.

10 plays to ST, ST drops ball back to 10, 10 passes out wide to either RW or LW, Winger crosses the ball into box for 10, ST and opposite winger to score.

Opposition LB, 6 and RB starts 10 metres behind and defends as soon as 10 starts play. If defensive team wins back ball, must score in the two mini goals within 3 seconds.

Equipment

2 x goal post

12 x balls

Organization

12 players divided into 2 teams, 6 vs 6, 10 outfield + 2 x goalkeepers.

50m length x 25m width for field dimensions.

Conditions

Both teams to play in GK-2-1-2 formation

Build up must start from the GK that conceded to encourage counter attack

Both teams have to score within 8 seconds of winning back the ball

Coaching points

Match day intensity

Check shoulders before recieving

Check in vs check out (opposite movement) to create time vs space

Open body and shoulders to receive on the back foot

Good first touch with relaxed ankle

Lock ankle when passing

Place standing foot next to the ball and in direction of teammate

Pass through equator of the ball

Look to play forward pass for transition

8 seconds to score or ball possession will be lost

Maximizing verticality to encourage forward passes
