This session is designed to make the extra pass inside the box in order to increase the chance to score.

Field: 45 x 60 yard Penalty Box 14 x 36 (9 v 9)
Number of players: 9 v 9, but scale to number of players.
Who: Primary - 8, 9, 10. Secondary - 2, 3, 6
What: Place one pass within the box before finishing.
Where: In the final third
When: When we create space in the box.
Why: To increase our chance to score
Game: Goalie plays free ball to 2, 3, or 6 in the middle zone. (Yellow shaded box). They play a contested ball to 8, 9, or 10.
1. If they are outside the box, then must drive into the box and pass before the finish.
2. If they are inside the box, the must find a pass before the finish.
Instruct:
1. Quickly drive into the Box
2. Maintain attacking shape. Control your area.
3. Look to create through balls.
4. Body position: hips behind the ball
Progression: The cut back
1. Drive to the goal line and cut the ball back toward the dot.

Layout:
•≈7v6
•#'s up attaking big goal with "counter" goals for defending team.
Restrictions:
•Defending team cannot drop to defend inside 18 yd Box. Att has 2 touches to shoot once inside Box.
––Progress to 1 or more defender can drop into Box.
•Defending team ha 6 seconds to score on counter goals.
Scoring Criteria:
•1 pt for dribbling(with 1st touch) into Box.
•2 pts if you find runner in the Box.
•3 pts for a 1 touch pass into Box(possibly on the ground depending on level).
*****Bonus Point if runner comes from behind the ball(Deep Run).

36 x 36 yard field. Penalty Box 14 x 36 (9 v 9)
4 teams of 3 and 1 GK. Can expand number of teams if needed.
Who: Primary - 8, 9, 10.
What: Place one pass within the box before finishing.
Where: In the final third
When: When we create space in the box.
Why: To increase our chance to score
Game: The 4 or 5 plays the ball diagonally to the 8 or 10. As soon as the ball crosses the cones the 6 releases to create 3 v 3. The 8 or 10 quickly drives into the box and crosses in box for a finish. Rotate teams.
Instruct:
1. Quickly drive with ball in to box.
2. Stay wide and disciplined with runs.
3. Service: Sharp ground pass.
4. Body position: hips behind the ball
Progression: Cut back
1. Drive to endline and cut the ball back to the dot.
