Screen and await his team mate to create a passing line.
Use a neutral player to play off.

Timing the spin off and the through ball are crucial.
Receiving player must communicate verbally or via body language, his intentions.

Receiving player must check shoulders to see if the space exists to spin off into.
Other players can also spin off to create space to then be in a position to receive a pass.
Lightening-fast turning ability.
Strength to hold off the marker while you turn.
Balance and explosive pasce.
Awareness.

Organisation
5 or 6 Players line up and begin a very slow jog forward.
Instructions
As the coach calls 'Go!', the front player must turn and sprint to the back of the line as quickly as he can. Coach repeats.
Coaching Points
Explosive speed out of the turn.
Progressions
Place a line of 10 or 12 balls on the edge of the penalty area.
Players jog directly away from the goal.
Repeat as above, but this time, the Player who turns and sprints must first shoot a ball into the goal before rejoining the line.
Repeat twice and replace balls - use the collection and replacing of the balls as part of the exercise - players can only collect one ball at a time, and after collecting must sprint to replace it, before turning at speed to find another ball.

Drill - Screening the Ball (10 mins)
Organisation
Create an area 30 x 10 yards.
Split players into pairs - 2 x Red and 2 x Blue. One player from each pair acts as a server and remains on the edge of the area, as above.
Instructions
Red server passes the ball into red player, who must screen the ball from the blue defender for 5 seconds before returning the ball to the red server. Once the red player passes the ball, the blue player seeks to receive a pass from the blue server etc.
Rotate players and servers regularly.
Coaching Points:
Player receiving the ball must be on their toes - get to the ball before the defender.
When the ball is at the players feet, remain balanced, bend keness and lean slightly forward, so the player can't be pushed off the ball.
Use arms to make your body wider and stick your backside out!
Be aware of options.
