Session set up
Have all balls in an area either a circle of cone's or close to an available net
Players to start in a separate area of cones around 20-25 yards away
Session walkthrough
Whilst all explorers were having a drink, the guide spotted the Spinosaurus steal all the dinosaur eggs from the nest
The Spinosaurus has now fallen to sleep & the guide asks the explores if they would like to return the eggs to the mum dinosaur
Have your assistant coach lying down infront of one of the goals with all balls around them. They are now a 'sleepy dinosaur'
To get them back they need to quietly & slowly go up to the dinosaur & get the eggs back to the nest (coned area)
The dinosaur wakes up when he hears little voices but he cannot see very well so if they stand still when they are close, he wont be able to see them.
Coach helps all players move very slowly & instructs them.
When they are close, the explorers get their eggs & take hem back to the nest
Coaching Points
Light on their toes, change speed, change directions, acceleration
Coach to be very energic, join in with the players to control the group & make sure players don't run off. Assistant must get into character & pretend to yawn, pretend to spot explorers in the distance & make the players laugh.
Players will be ready for matches, keeping a dinosaur theme with team names or referring to the ball as a dinosaur eggs will help players stay motivated & continue their fun

Dinosaur Eggs
Session based on having extra room outside on 3G or grass.
Make use of space by setting up progressions of games in separate area's to minimise setup time & waiting within session*if space allows
Assistants to be alert at all times & encourage participation from all players.
Group sizes maybe big so coach needs to be loud, energetic & organised.
Bring the players in to ask them how many different dinosaurs do they know? And let them know they will be going on an adventure in Jurassic Park in this session.
Session setup -
Have an area big enough for all players to dribble around
To start have enough footballs for one each inside a circle of cones which will act as a nest
Scatter cones around the area which will act as tree's which they have to dribble round
Session walkthrough -
The players have somehow found themselves in the middle of Jurassic Park
The guide (coach) has spotted some vacant dinosaur eggs - the mum dinosaur must be having a little break or finding food
Ask the explorer's if they would like to look after the eggs as they need to be kept warm
One by one the explorers grab a egg & go back into the area
Coach to inform explorers that they must not use their hands as the mum dinosaur will know we have touched them
Players to dribble around the area avoiding the tree's as they don't want to crack the egg
Coach to slowly build up the session with different commands -
Spinosaurus = Speed up dribble & change direction - This dinosaur is the one who likes to eat other dinosaurs eggs
The mum dinosaur is close = Freeze - The guide can here the mum dinosaur close, so explorers need to freeze so she doesn't suspect they have her eggs
T-Rex - Toe taps - Gently act as a t-rex being careful not to crack the egg
Progression
Coach to place lots of bibs down laid flat around the area
Explain to the explorer that these are warm patches made by the sun through all the forest trees
It is important that the eggs are kept warm
Players have 10 seconds to dribble to a warm patch with their egg
Once they are stood on one, they perform ball roles/side to sides to warm up the egg more
Once they leave the warm patch they have another 10 seconds to find another warm patch
Progressions
Competition - how many warm patches can you make it to in 60 seconds?
The guide has spotted the mum dinosaur & intrusts all the explorers to put the eggs back in the nest quickly & that the mum dinosaur even though she wont know, will be thankful for their help.
