Set up: Two teams of 2+2 outside players in box 10x10yd with one ball per team. 4 of each colour, oranges play with oranges and blacks play with blacks.
1) Players on inside pass and move, combining inside the area between themselves and the outside players. Increasing tempo.
2) Swap inside and outside players. Introduce option of playing switch pass i.e wall to wall. This will change movement of inside players who must show for teammate on wall.
3) Progression - a) When player shouts switch after playing pass to wall player, they swap position with wall player. b) restrict wall players to one touch.

Set up: Coach feeds ball from side for 2v1s and 2v2s with both teams starting from wide behind each of their goals.
1) 2v2 first team to score then both pairs of players leave pitch.
2) Introduce an end player for each team so now 1+1 v 1 +1 or 2+1 v 2+1 etc. Don't have to use a pass for end player.
Coaching Points:
Decision making: When to take players on / when to pass when to shoot ? Timing and sharpness of movement. Encourage attacking players to be direct.
Defending team, close down early with pressing player closest to ball. Communication. Force player on to weaker foot.
Use of end player to create different angles and timing of that pass.

4v4 ( or as required) in middle and wall players for 6 x 3min sets. All in for players in middle but with maximum of two touches for players on outside. Progression 1 - pair players with opponents and can only tackle that player. Progression 2 - the pass from outside MUST go to a third man.
Coaching Points:
Move ball quickly. Quality of pass. Team in possession make area as big as possible. Don't all move towards ball.
Sharp movement to create space to receive ball. Players inside and outside can't be static. First touch direction you want to play. Awareness of players.
Closing down early with pressing player closest to ball. Channel one way and communication

Warm Up A - Moving with ball & passing into possession (15 mins)
Set-up: 5 players in each box 15x15yd with one ball
1) Players pass and move in the area. Slow Tempo - Encourage dribbling with ball, lots of touches then play pass and perform dynamic stretches.
2) Increasing tempo and after playing a pass must not standstill but move away to edge of area (side steps, heels or knees up)
3) Match tempo and two touch before playing pass. On command play pass to next box. Move to one touch if you can.
4) Players continue to pass and move in the box. When coach shouts switch players pass ball in a clockwise direction to the next box. Player who passes the ball, also chases ball to close down players creating a 4v1 situation in the box.
