WHY: To recover ball sooner rather than later, when score dictates to put higher pressure up the field.
WHAT: Working with in the lines, 7,9,11 provide pressure, #10,8,6 provide cover/compactness, #2,3 to provide balance/compactness/cover

Organization:
50yrd x 40yrd, pointed cones for counter, ball, pennies,
Instructions:
Blue will shoot on large goal and red on counter goal, Ball will start w/ GK, once ball is played attackers will work to recover ball.
Coaching Points:
-Arcing runs to take away the sideline- Apply pressure to take sidline option away, Proper arcing run will help dictate where ball goes. Delay so that teamates can get into better position
-2nd attacker to apply pressure/cover to take 2nd option away. Can this person read in which direction the pressure is going
- 3rd attacker to apply cover/compactness- anticipate if ball swings this way
-4th attacker to apply cover/compactness/balance- anticipate a nervous give away
-Attacking team looking for bad touches, slow passes,

Instructions:
Ball will start with GK, once ball is played, attackers will move into position to recover and get a shot on large goal. Defense tries to score into counter goals.
Coaching Points:
-#9,11,7 to apply pressure as soon as possible taking one option away. Proper technique of defending.
-2nd attacker apply pressure/cover to take 2nd option away, does 2nd attacker see the direction of the pressure?
-#10 provide cover- can he read the direction of the play, and get into better position?
-#8,2,3 provide cover/compactness/balance and make the field smaller and harder to pass out of.

Coaching Points:
Watch for opportunities to apply pressure on the ball, bad touches, bad passes, unwieghted passes. Watch for lines working together attacking connecting with midfield line. Attacking pressuring the ball, and midfield line providing cover/compactness/balance. Can the attacking team make the field smaller, gain posession, and create a scoring opportunity?

-Able to recognize bad pass, slow pass, or bad touch
