Passing Combination 3.
From looking at the diagram, I will be honest and say that it does look really complicated but when I break it down it should become a lot easier to understand. However, it might take a while for your players to get it.
Dimensions, players and equipment the same.
Player 1 starts with the ball, they pass to number 2 and moves to the other side of the grid. 2 receives the ball and passes back to player 1 and then moves to the other side of the grid. Player 1 will then pass back to player 2 but stays where they are. Player 2 then passes to player 3 and moves to the other side of the grid. Player 3 then passes it back to player 2 and moves to the other side of the grid. Player 2 then passes back to player 3 and moves to opposite side of the grid. Player 3 passes to player 2 but stays where they are.
What you need to tell the players is that once they pass the ball they move to the opposite side of the grid. The only exception is when players 1 and 3 have made two passes to the middle player, they then have to stay where they are.
This is an intense practice so make sure to swap positions regularly and have regular breaks.

Passing Combination 1 (10 mins)
Passing Combinations 1
2 x 10y by 10y areas, 3 players in each area, 2 balls.
2 touches, one to control one to pass
The players are set up as above, the ball starts with one player on the end. 1 will pass the ball to the player in the middle and move to the opposite side of the grid. 2 will pass the ball to the end player and move to the other side of the grid. 3 will dribble to the opposite side and the pass back to 2. This will repeat.
I will change the players around so they all get to practice receiving the ball in the middle.
Technical points:
- Player 2 is side on to see both players
- Once passed the ball players move quickly and make sure they are ready to receive the next ball.
- Make sure you communicate with all the players.
Adaptions:
- One touch
- Weaker foot only
