4 Cones 15 x 15
4 Cones 25 x 25
4 -8 Balls, (one on each outside cone)
up to 4 players on the inside cones
Activity:
Player A will get ball from ring and will pass the ball to players by cone in the middle with their preferred foot only at first. The player in the middle will control the ball, stopping it and dribble back and place the ball back inside the ring, (making sure ball is stopped inside the ring).
** note: The player in the middle B will dribble back to the outside ring, near cone A and place ball inside the outer ring.
Players repeat until players are back in the original position
Players repeat with their non-preferred foot when you think they are comfortable and succeeding.
Progression #2 (day 1 or 2)
Players will repeat same above drill, however now make it into a competitive game. Teams will have to do above drill 2x's, on with their preferred foot and other with their non-preferred foot: The team that completes the task, correctly and first wins the 3-4 points, based on the amount of teams made.
Note: Provide each team (player A & B) with a object to hold in their hand like a baton: i.e cone, pennie to hand off to their teammate, so they know when to go. Make sure that players are passing correctly, with the inside of there foot, dribbling and placing the the ball inside the ring before they hand-off the team baton to their teammate. If the ball is not inside the ring, the hand-off is no good and player must place ball inside. Goal is for players to pass and dribble correctly, maintain ball close to their foot, and stop and control ball inside the assigned ring.
Progression #3 (day 1 or 2)
Add additional small cones (2-3 max) to the inside middle cone for players to dribble through as obstacles they must attack and dribble. ...
Coaching Points:
Dribbling: Close touches with outside of foot
Receive the layoff with the outside of the foot
Pulling side to side make sure that hips are square and parallel to the way that they are facing
** Note: make sure players stay engaged and that the you are able to modify drills based not only the group, but on each player level, so that you can have some players limited and work more on their individual strengths and weakness.

Set Up:
5 v 5
at least 4-5 addition balls by each goal. Idea is for players to learn to move faster, and think quicker
Activity:
5 v 5 directional to a goal
Teams in 2 different colours
3 - pass limit before any team can try to score into their assigned goal. If a player loses the ball, the count starts again before team can try to attack and score.
Players on the ball look to play into the future to avoid getting "trapped"
Coaching Points:
Weight of passes
Recognizing space
Movement of ball (tempo)
Are our players with possession "ahead" in their thinking to advance the ball in attack
Are we creating opportunities to help the player with the ball when we are off the ball
