Passing Intro (10 mins)

Organization:

2 players

1 ball

4 cones


Instructions:

Use 2 cones to create a gate, as shown

Players decide on the distance their cones are apart (ability depending)

Pass the ball through the gate as many times as possible in set time (1 min)


Coaching Points:

Which part of your foot do you use to pass?

How can we stand to ensure the ball travels straight through the gate?

Can you pass using only 1 touch?


Progressions:

Competition between each group, how many consecutive passes can you make through your gate? (1 min)

Technical (10 mins)

ORGANIZATION:

Cones:9 per grid (3 Grids)

Players: 18

Pinnies: none

Activity:

1 touch passing pattern. Middle player pops out wide after the 2nd pass to make a triangle. Players stay in position just return to start. Rotate players every 3 minutes.


CP's: Properly weight 1 touch pass; Play to proper foot of receving player; field vision; Timing between groups

Flying 2's (25 mins)

ORGANIZATION:

-2 even teams, 2 lines per team, balls at opposite corners

-2 GK's, 1 in each goal

-2v2 after a save, game still plays

-2v2 after a goal, the team that scores, starts with the next ball (always new 4 players)

-2v2 after the ball goes over an endline, whatever endline it goes out of bounds, that team starts with the ball

-2v2 after the ball goes over the sideline, whatever team knocked it out, the opposing team starts with the ball
