Fun Warm-Up Game (15 mins)

Game: Traffic Cop

How to Play:

  • One player (or coach) is the "traffic cop."

  • Other players dribble around the field while following traffic signals:

    • "Green Light" = Dribble fast

    • "Yellow Light" = Dribble slow

    • "Red Light" = Stop with a foot on the ball

    • "Speed Bump" = Do a toe tap before continuing

Coaching Points:

  • Keep head up while dribbling.

  • Use both feet for ball control.

How to Play:

  • Players dribble through a maze of cones using small touches.

  • The coach challenges them to use different surfaces of the foot (inside, outside, sole).

Coaching Points:

  • Use small, controlled touches. (inside & outside of foot)

  • Keep the ball close while moving.

Dribbling Game (30 mins)

4 Goal Game Challenge

How to Play:

  • Players must dribble through whatever color combination the coach calls and then score a goal.

  • Mix and match the colors to have kids dribble everyone

  • How many goals can you score under one minute?

Coaching Points:

  • Use small, controlled touches. (inside & outside of foot)

  • Keep the ball close while moving.

Small-Sided Games (30 mins)

How to play. 

  • Introduce rule of the games.
  • Game must be reset with a kick off is ball goes out of bounce. 
  • Stop the game if you see a handball or a fault. 
  • Make sure the players know where to score. 

Time the games out if needed. 30 seconds games.
