Players play 1v1 with a target player. The defender's aim is to win the ball back as quickly as possible and play to the target player. The attacker must try and score in the goal. If the attacker takes longer than 5 seconds to score they must bounce the ball back of the target player before restarting their 5 second time limit.
The focus is creating space to receive the ball. Receiving to feet, or to space and trying to face up their opponent 1v1 and attack quickly. This will help players peel off their opponent and also open out once they receive where required. The target player must get into good positions to receive from both the attacker and defender and make good decisions on when, where and how to pass to the striker. Rotate roles every 2 minutes.
To progress, if the defender gets the ball to the target player they rotate. The target player then becomes the attacker and the attacker becomes the defender. This will work on the movement of the target player to get in to the best possible position to receive the ball and attack with speed. The attacker must work quickly in transition to become the defender.

The pitch is split into 3 sections, as set up in the previous practice. In each end zone there is a 2v1 + GK and the central zone has a 3v3.
To begin, players are locked into their zones. A goal can be scored from anywhere but possession must be linked through the striker. Rotate positions.
To progress, allow a midfielder to join the attack through a dribble or a third man run. Again, a goal can only be scored if possession is linked through the striker. This will create an underload in midfield, if the team in possession want to push a defender into midfield to create a 3v3 and leave a 1v1 in defence they can.

Offside is played from the half way line and balls are positioned around the pitch to keep the intensity high.
