Drill Structure
Defender 1 passes to player A. Upon this pass defender 1 races down and around the cheese while defender 2 tries to pass defender 1.
Once A receives the ball, they pass to player B, who passes to player C. Once player C receives the ball the 3v2 begins.
At the conclusion of the 3v2 the defenders and attack stay in the circle, and are released once the other 3v2 has entered the attacking 25 for a 6v4.
Focus points
Defense - speed on recovery, quick organization of pressure/cover, force to poor shooting angle
Attack - find the 2v1, try and enter the circle with the best shooting angle
Variations
- change the passing pattern so the 3v2 is initiated from the inside of the field, not the sideline.
- add another defender to make it a 6v5 - recovering in during the second 3v2
- time limit to earn a corner or goal for each 3v2 and/or 6v4
