Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): Yo-Yo!

Description

Focus: Shooting

Instructions: Have the grid set up the way you would have it normally. One coach of a team stands in front of one net, and the other coach stands in front of the other net. Coaches are in the middle facing the net and their players. Their players are beside one of the nets with balls. Players have to pass their coach the ball, run around their coach, and then the coach passes it/lays it off to them. Players shoot on net.

Coaching Points: Encourage celebrations, accuracy, let them shoot with any part of foot and have fun!

Additional Notes: Have a parent volunteer to stand beside the net with the players to tell them when to pass the ball to their coach. Also, have players switch the side of the net they are on about halfway through the activity so they run a different way and shoot on the other side.
