Animation 1 (20 mins)

Passing, receiving and carrying the ball:

A passes to B.

A becomes defender and walks straight towards B so that B will have to go left or right from A.

B receives ball from A and will have to pass defender A (left or right, note right is backhand defender).

Once B passes A, B will push ball to (forehand) C and exercise will repeat.

Goal:

Getting a smooth exercise in which all players keep moving and getting comfortable in passing, receiving and going past another player (at first without real defending). Defenders learn to move towards ball, in the line of the attacker, after losing a pass to an opponent. After receiving, the attacker first needs to build up speed and look up (vision) to be able to see the defender and to go past the defender.

Increase difficulty level by:

- passing harder so that receiving will become more difficult and less speed for attacker, bal control.

- allowing defender to make one side step aside when approaching at the attacker, for which the attacker needs to move more sideways.

- attacker is allowed to move ball through leggs of defender and go sideways the defender.

- train defenders to keep attacker to their right side (defenders forehand side), so approach a little bit left instead of straight in front of attacker.
